Gallery Journal
On Friday I visited both the gallery by Bauman and the Monthorn Gallery. I was very proud of Breanne and Erica's work, they both did an excellent job. Breanne's project on the life cycle of women was really well done. I loved how she used such a large variety of images to completely express her theme. It was great having seen some of Erica's photos, but then seeing how she worked on them, printing them on canvas and then playing with them with paint. Both girls expressed and explored their themes in a unique way. Bravo!

Bessie May
Yes, this is my beloved Cow Car. Passed down from father to daughter, Bessie May is practically a family heirloom. When her paint decided to all fall off at once during my freshman year at George Fox, I painted cow spots on her, all thanks to the suggestion of a dear friend.

6(testosterone) + 2(estrogen)=
I haven't learned much mathematics at George Fox University, but this equation had some surprising results…
This photo project was intended to capture the great moments of an evening spent with incredible friends. Photojournalism is my focus this semester and trying to capture relationship between subjects. Four of our best guy friends came up from OSU and WOU and two were here from GFU. With that much testosterone there was bound to be random outbursts of wrestling and moshing. Although it was nicely balanced with fine dinner conversation, dancing, and quality time. These photos only capture a few of those moments.

Beauty
My grandma, Marjorie Lee Cooney, is one of the most important women in my life. She lives her life with so much joy and energy. These photos are from a Thai food outing with the ladies of the family. Don't dare to ask her age, she'd never tell you and you would never guess.
My grandma has always said to me, "Margi, if I were as beautiful as you, I would dance on the moon."
"Abuelita" I call her, is originally from New Mexico. Turquoise jewelry has been the staple Christmas gift since my cousin Katy and I were 3-years-old.
"Grandma, you're like a fine wine, you only get better with age." Margi

Morocco
Eid-Al-Fitr is the large muslim celebration that ends the month of fasting known as Ramadan. I was studying abroad in Seville, Spain and decided to take a bus, ferrie, train, and taxi to get to celebrate in Fez, Morocco for the weekend. I met some of the nicest people in my life on that trip to Morocco. These photos capture some of the beauty of this culture and a time of celebration. I had a hard time choosing, so here is a bunch of them.

Heart Friends
Hannah Jo Harrod. Terah Lynae Laack. Rachel Marie Giffey-Brohaugh. Margi Marie Felix.
Heart friends.
There are times in our lives where we find ourselves surrounded by other people who not only know our hearts, but they adore them, and share some of the most important parts. I don't think I would call those best friends. They are not, per se, "better" than anyone else. There isn't really any comparison. They're just heart friends.
This project is a time capsule of beautiful friendships. The photo shoot was done at Chapters, our favorite coffee shop, that we frequent together every Friday morning at 6 am for "Tradish". Apart from that we either are employed there, or visit Tuesday/Thursday before class, or have Saturday morning mama dates. We love Chapters. This project aims to capture the beauty of this moment in our friendships. Right now is probably the most we'll ever have in common. Although it is the differences that make these friendships so beautiful, I wanted to emphasize the small everyday things we get to enjoy during this season.
Drinking coffee is a fav group past time. Not only pleasing to the taste buds, coffee accompanies well any type of story or any length of conversation.
Friendship rings were bought before we were all separated to Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America for eight months. Bringing them back together has been amazing.
Converse of "cons", another common bond of friendship. A snapshot of unity.

San Fran
MLK weekend in San Francisco, California. A project originally intended to capture the people and culture of this great place by the bay, but was redirected as the beauty of the city itself caught my eye. Good city shots were taken and beautiful memories were made. An amazing weekend.
Blue skies by the Bay. Moon shot taken from Ghiradelli Square.
Evening San Fran Shot from the top of Lombard Street, America's crookedest street, overlooking the city, Coit Tower, and the Bay bridge.
Evening traffic at the top of Lombard Street looking towards Golden Gate Park.
Bay Bridge at night from the 12th floor of the Hyatt Hotel, at a yoga convention. Tight cheetah print yoga pants and men in tank tops.
Gotta love San Francisco.

España
This project includes some of my favorite photos from life in Spain. I was trying to capture the fiesta culture of this country. These are just some extraordinary shots of ordinary life.
This photo captures a typical Spanish dinner, around 10:30 pm in the streets of Madrid.
Walking through the streets one day I snapped this photo of these beautiful Spaniards. Very typical "pijos" or preppys.
One of the few days it rained in Sevilla during my time there I saw a lone orange sitting on a ledge. I was late for class, yet couldn't help but stop and try to capture the water droplets.
Typical Spanish flamenco dance and guitar mixed with some theatre at a museum.
Bullfight. A dance between man and beast.
